James

My ex-husband, Kayla's S.D. :-) called me at one o'clock this morning. Lucky for him I was at work, not many people can get away with calling me at one am. He had been in an accident earlier in the evening & had just been admitted to our ATCU (Acute Trauma Care Unit). He has a compression wrap on his head to keep the swelling down and he has several fractured bones in his face. Was he wearing a seat belt? NO! Later in the week after the swelling goes down he'll have surgery to repair the bones in his face.

When we were married he drove a 1993 Chevy S-10, when he wrecked he was driving the same truck, 225,000 miles later.

He's a jerk; he'll be the first one to tell you, but I would not wish this on my worst enemy. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers please.

Gabi

Went BACK to the doctor today, she has an ear infection and a virus. She's taking antibiotics and cough medicine and she'll go back in 2 weeks for a re-check. I swear the child has been sick since school started. If I could take it from her I would. Pray she gets better soon and STAYS that way!

What was I thinking?

I have a ton of school work due within the next few days. I am working 5 of my 7 off days! I'm going to be ready to pull my hair out soon. CALGON take me away. Pray for me, I have never been more ready to quit something as I am my algebra class. Some people get it, I don't.

Gabi & Brianna

The girls spent most of the day together Sunday. I got up once to go to the restroom & then went right back to bed so there were no pics taken. Usually they spend game day together but Addie had to help babysit Saturday so they made up for lost time.

Busy weekend....

Here's Kayla with her BFF Jeanie and her friend Haley. Friday evening was spent at the church baking. Saturday morning they had a booth set up at Tannehill Trade Days for a bake sell to help raise money for the youth drama team at the church. If I'm not mistaken between the bake sale and the donations they made $525. Yeah!

Then Saturday evening they went to the Desire the Fire concert at their school. That's when the pic was taken; just before they left, matching shirts (how cute) Saturday night I shipped Kayla off to Jeanie's house, it's my week to work.

Alabama Adventure

Chris & I spent most of the day with the girls at Alabama Adventure. Of course there are no pics of Kayla & Jeanie, they're 14, can't be seen with us. It was hot & Gabi wasn't feeling well. We made the most of it. We went back to the car for lunch & Chris soaked a towel in the cooler then wrapped it around Gabi's head to cool her off. Gabi is a wuss but we managed to get her on Cahaba Falls & Wild River Gorge. We were going to make our way to the Kiddie section but she'd had enough for one day. I called Mom & ask her to have the Motrin ready and run her a cool bath. She was one pooped little girl.

Happy Birthday to Me

My actual birthday was Saturday, the 13th. Although the celebrations started a week and a half ago. My awesome boss got me a Strawberry Cheesecake from the Cheesecake factory, my favorite. My friend Toni, our soon to be Culinard graduate baked me White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies, melt in your mouth. Kim bought me 2 cups & some Almonds from Starbucks. THANK YOU BOSS, TONI, & KIM!
I worked Saturday night, Barbie Doll Amy frustrated with the Auburn game came by & brought me the cake on the top. Amy is quite the smart mouth as am I & we're constantly telling each other to "Shut up/shut your mouth". That was set in stone when we saw Stepbrother's & they were saying it. :-) THANK YOU AMY!
Betty, at my request made me a blueberry cheesecake. She also gave me the Lighthouse Collage you see above. She went to South Carolina last month & visited this lighthouse. THANK YOU BETTY!
Then Lurinda shows up with the Lighthouse cake (which made for my 6th birthday dessert). THANK YOU LURINDA! And thank you Elizabeth for the ice cream & Anna for buying dinner. And thank you Steve for being Steve. You all made my birthday a memorable one. We started the shift off with cake & ice cream and it was there for us to feast on the rest of the night.

Lighthouse

One of my Pharmacist at work & her significant other just got back from a 17 day trip to Sicily, Greece, Rome, etc. She took a picture of this lighthouse for me. She said she waited for the wind to blow so she could get the flag too. Love it!

Logan's

Twelve of us met tonight at Logan's for dinner. Howard's birthday was Tuesday, he's 37, mine is tomorrow, I'll be 35. We always celebrate together & include Grandparent's Day in the mix. Our amazing Mother went by Publix and got this cake, Howard's name & age was on the other side. Even the employees at Logan's had a piece, everyone was eyeing it. White cake with cream cheese icing & as you can see lots of strawberries on top. Yummmm! We had a good time. THANK YOU EVERYONE. I got cash, 2 Wal-Mart gift cards, a JCPenney gift card, a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure, and a comb/brush set.:-)

Last summer....

Six of us drove up to Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH. My brother & niece drove down from Michigan to meet us. We had a blast. For those of you that really know me you know I LOVE lighthouses, we stayed at the Lighthouse Point which were cabins inside the park. Walking distance from the amusement park & the water park. As you can see we had a grill just outside & an awesome cook with us.

Two of us drove over to the Marblehead Lighthouse in Port Clinton, OH. About 15 minutes from Cedar Point, GORGEOUS!!!

The Top Thrill Dragster was out of this world, 420 feet tall & 120 mph in approximately 4 seconds. That was one of their 16 roller coasters.

We were trying to decide if we wanted to head north next year for another round of Cedar Point or if we wanted to head south to Disney World again. We were there in 2005.

Two awesome trips, one hard decision, we'll have to see who the winner is.

Gabi @ gymnastics.....

Gymnastics started back today. Gabi has been practicing a lot at home and Mrs. Leslie was very proud at how well she's doing. Here are some pics from this afternoon, it's Gabi, Belle, Christina, Abigail, & Jay. And of course Mrs. Leslie's "mini me" came in toward the end, her daughter Mackenzie looks just like her. Great job Gabi!

Labor Day

Our white water rafting trip was a success. Minor injuries, nothing requiring a trip to the emergency room or knee surgery. :-) Most of the group headed home after the trip & a few stayed behind to go kayaking. We stopped in Chattanooga to eat at the Big River Grille & Brewing Works. Then we walked down to the river behind the Aquarium, we were too stuffed to pile back into the car. It was a beautiful day. I'll post pics of the rafting trip as soon as they are available. It never fails I always get embarrassed while on the Ocoee. I can't seem to keep my pants up! I apologize for those of you who will be scarred forever.
