B'day dinner @ Habanero's....

Kayla & I met James' side of the family tonight for her birthday dinner with them. James & his fiance couldn't make it but we had a good time with those who did....Stephen, Heidi, Linda, Melissa, David & Lilly!

It's official....

Kayla passed her drivers license test this a.m. She was SO nervous! Please pray for her safety & my nerves.

What was I thinking?

Yes, I bought Kayla a car. She wants to work this summer and that would require her own transportation. She now has the responsibility of car insurance, gas, etc. & realizes the importance of earning her own money! We had a really long talk & I can only hope and pray she took it all in. We're heading to Tuscaloosa in the morning in hopes of obtaining her driver's license. She didn't have a clue & was totally surprised. A big THANK YOU to Uncle Howie, Uncle Chris & Uncle Carl!

SURPRISE!

Kayla seeing her car for the first time. Thankfully a few other people were taking pics too because I missed this shot. Thanks Leslie & Aunt Jenn!

Sweet times....

After we opened presents things moved outside....the weather was perfect, the kids played ball & had the best time. Kayla got a lot of loving from little ones today....she doesn't see them often enough!

Car keys?

I wrapped a picture of Kayla's car tag for her to open....she opened it & I informed her I bought the car tag and it was up to her to buy the car to put the tag on. She continued to open gifts then I handed her the keys to her car.

KAYLA'S 16TH BIRTHDAY PARTY....

It's not official until 6:46 p.m. tomorrow but we celebrated today! It turned out to be a beautiful day, spent with family & friends. Thanks to all that made it possible....Kayla really needed today. Thanks to Uncle Chris for grilling hamburgers & hot dogs and we had everything yummy to go with it....including this amazing cake! And thanks to Aunt Jenn for letting us have the party at her house.

Pool time....

We stayed in Dublin last night, which explains the leprechaun and the four leaf clover in the pool. We were tired so I took the girls to the pool while Mom ordered pizza. We had no problem sleeping in this morning....unfortunately Gabi woke up with a fever and has one now. I told her she wasn't allowed to be sick over Spring Break.

Headkeeper's....

house. This building was constructed in 1881 for the Headkeeper and his family. They have fully restored it but kept the original phone, stove, etc. The toys were in the girls room upstairs. Precious!

178 & My Bucket List....

I LOVE lighthouses....we climbed 178 steps to the top of the Tybee Lighthouse. The view was incredible & so was the wind. It reminded Kayla & I of a tower we climbed in Europe; it was just as cold at the top of the lighthouse as it was at the top of that tower. I have checked that off my bucket list, I have been to several incredible lighthouses but this was my first climb to the top of one.

TYBEE LIGHTHOUSE....

Paula Deen....

Saturday we tried to have lunch at Paula Deen's restaurant....Lady & Sons, but you have to get in line at 9:30 that morning & hope for a table. So Sunday we went back & got on the list for lunch at 1:45. We were seated on the 3rd floor; they only serve the buffet on Sunday's but it was worth the wait.

Bonaventure Cemetery....

This cemetery is located on a scenic bluff of the Wilmington River, the cemetery became famous in 1994 when it was featured in the novel.

Savannah....

This beautiful home is located across the street from Forsyth Park! The Spanish moss was hanging from all the oak trees!

Forsyth Park....

Cecilia wanted to go to Forsyth Park & Bonaventure Cemetery....both of which were in "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil". I've not seen the movie but I definitely want to now. The fountain was dyed green in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. The middle pic on the bottom is the Confederate Memorial. There were several brides there having their wedding photos taken. Lots of picnics, throwing footballs, etc.

Spring Break....

The girls & I are on Spring Break this week....we just got home from a 4 day weekend. A much needed getaway....short & sweet. Me, Kayla, Mom, Cecilia and Gabi went to Savannah. We had a good time but there are not enough hours in a day. I'll definitely be going back....there were too many things we didn't get to do. We spent a lot of time with my good friend Paige who lives there now; we had our own personal tour guide. These are some random shots....fun times!

22 days & counting....

until my daughter turns 16. She keeps reminding me with a countdown. She is still holding onto bronchitis. Low oxygen level, coughing & wheezing, etc. She got an antibiotic shot, a seven day supply of antibiotics and she has to use her inhaler 3 times a day. We go back next week, she's had this in some form or another since December. We're going to a Pulmonologist at Children's but they can't see her until May. UGH!!!

On a better note, her incision in her tummy is almost completely closed....it only took a little over 2 months.

Beauty Walk....

Gabi was in a beauty walk at her school tonight. She didn't place but she had a good day full of pampering; she had her nails done then went to Sweet & Sassy to have her hair done. Then Kayla put a little make-up on her & got her dressed. BEAUTIFUL!!!

Banquet....

Gabi had her banquet tonight to celebrate the end of cheer leading season. They had a blast....I was out to our "Christmas" dinner at work so I have no pics. Gabi really enjoyed cheering so hopefully she'll do it again next year.
