Kayla....

would not be happy with me if she knew I posted this, SO don't tell her. The follow-up visit wasn't what we hoped for, the doctor would NOT clear her c-spine so Kayla is in a neck brace until the 29TH when we see the Neurosurgeon. The follow-up doctor did give her muscle relaxers and pain meds & as you can see she is resting comfortably.

"Just BREATHE"....

was what a friend/co-worker told me and it was good advice although I found myself pacing the floor every time they rolled Kayla out of the room. On the way to the hospital she ask me to call James Barr, I did & he was there until she was discharged. Long story short, Kayla has possible ligament damage to her C-spine....we are to follow-up with her primary in 1-2 days. Kayla ask to go by & see her jeep on the way home. Oh & how exactly is Ibuprofen suppose to relieve pain for someone who crawled out of this wreckage?

NIGHTMARE....

Being the Mother of a teenager brings on a whole new list of fear and worries. "ONE" of mine was made a reality on Sunday night into Monday morning. As mentioned in the previous post I was called into work, Gabi was picked up and I had just talked to my daughters best friend. She told me we are on the way to my house and I said, "Are you going there to STAY?". Her response, "Yes Ma'am". So when I received a call at ten minutes to THREE in the morning I had no ideal my daughter was even out. Kayla said, "Mom, you can yell at me later, right now I NEED YOU". Panic was not the word to describe what I was feeling & I'm not even sure how long it took me to get from B'ham to the accident sight but I was praying the whole time. Kayla had ran off the road and over corrected, flipping several times.

I called my Brother & he met me there to take care of things. Next thing I know we are on our way to Children's and Kayla was taken immediately to trauma....which was followed by hours of tests, x-rays, CT scans and WAITING! Thankfully the two friends that were with her were released at the scene.

Thunder on the Mountain....

I got called in to work OT so Gabi rode into work with me to watch Thunder on the Mountain. Then of course had to hang out at "Aunt Nonna's work" for a little while before being picked up. She always has fun & helps out big time in the process.
