HAPPY HALLOWEEN.....

Tonight most of the family was able to meet at San Antonio Grill in Helena for an early dinner. Then we went back to Jenn's house; Kayla, Jeanie, & Julien walked the neighborhood trick or treating, the rest of us stayed behind to pass out candy, etc. I had to leave early to come to work but the neighborhood was hopping. Kayla was a pirate, Jeanie-Daisy Duke, Julien-a werewolf, Gabi-a ballerina, & Addie-AN ANGEL! Here are a few pics; Julien trying to scare "somebody", his little sister was not fond of his costume at all. Chris was proud of his pumpkin carving abilities & they did a good job decorating for Halloween. Yucky spider and all.

:-(

Gabi went to the doctor yesterday; her fever was 102.9, she has strep and the rash that goes with it. She's better today, on antibiotics 3 times a day.

Addie's had a fever off & on for several days. Please pray that they both get well soon.

Junie B. Jones

Gabi had to do a book report on one of her favorite books, she chose Junie B. Jones. As part of the report she had to decorate a pumpkin. She did a good job, choppy hair and all!

Gabi's Field Trip

Posted by Picasa
Gabi had her first field trip of the year yesterday. They went to the Pumpkin Patch at Shadow Lake. As you can tell there appeared to be fun had by all.

Homecoming pics...

It's safe to say some cell phones don't take the best pictures but here are two pics from Kayla's Homecoming. The top one is her and Hayley, the bottom one is her with Alan (Julien's oldest brother). At least I think it's Alan, I could tell if his hair was out of his eyes.

James sent me this pic of his truck. He needs to count his many blessing that he is able to stand in front of the mangled mess.

Homecoming

Kayla went to her first Homecoming game and dance at the High School. I'm still waiting for her to send me pictures; I had to work so she took a few pics on her cell phone. Her team lost but she still had a good time.

Full Day

Kayla & Gabi were out of school Friday & Monday so Mom & I decided to do something fun with them for the day. They each got to take a friend; we went to IHOP for breakfast, then to the movies. After that Mom dropped me & the 4 girls off at the train station in Birmingham; then she drove to Anniston to pick us up. The girls have always wanted to ride the train. Short trip this time, after meeting back up with Mom we went to Top of the River for dinner. A good day, much needed.

WOW!

These days it's not very often that I hear sweet things come from the mouth of my 14 year old. Last Friday we went to the Olive Garden for our Friday night dinner; most of us were seated at the table when Kayla & Jeanie came back from the restroom. Kayla sat down took one look at Addie, looked at the rest of us and said "SHE'S EVEN MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN THE LAST TIME I SAW HER"!

ADDIE

Addie got longer braces and a walker. You would have to see her in action to know what an amazing job she's doing. We are all so proud of her. Please pray daily for her continued progress. XOXOXO Sweet Girl!

Julien

Julien had his first football game of the season today. Flag football this year, they played at Chelsea High School against Calera. The Helena Titans won 38-12. Julien made one of those touchdowns. Good job Julien.

Cecilia's 38th Birthday Dinner

Tonight we had dinner at Los Sombreros for Cecilia's 38th B'day. Her birthday is not until Monday but we incorporated it into our regular Friday night dinner. As you can tell everyone had a good time, especially the kids. Addie loved the cake and even ask for "more".

Tonight was the first time I've heard Addie say "HI" or "BYE" & she waved both times. It's the sweetest thing ever. I know she has "MAMA" down pat, that's all I hear. Tonight was a blessing. Addie was in a very good mood, in addition to telling us hi and bye she was in the mood for loving; so lots of hugs & kisses to go around.

Afterwards, we dropped Kayla & Jeanie off at the church for a lock in. I remember those days. To be 14 again.

Last Monday.....

An employee at UAB left her house at 9:30 pm headed to work but never made it. She was found in her truck Tuesday afternoon. She had passed away from injuries sustained in an auto accident. I didn't know her personally but I never saw her without a smile on her face. She lit up the room as soon as you walked in it. My heart goes out to her family.

Tuesday night, another UAB night shift employee apparently fell asleep on the way to work & was involved in an MVA. She had to be air lifted in. She's had surgery due to her injuries. I work very closely with this employee. She is one of the most giving people I know. Please pray for a speedy recovery.

Please keep all of us night shift workers in your prayers. Safe trips to and from work.
