We celebrated Addie's 5TH Birthday in Gatlinburg. Breakfast at the Apple Barn, go cart rides at the Nascar Speedway, cake & ice cream at the condo and the grand finale....dinner at the Dixie Stampede. Happy Birthday Sweet Girl....I LOVE YOU! She was in the bed fast asleep a few hours later when we welcomed 2012.
Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg are a lot of fun. Last time we were there Kayla & I rode this ride. This time around we talked Howard into joining us. It's expensive and short but fun.
Mom & I were sitting in the living room when I noticed a truck passing ever so slowly in front of our house....several times. When I went out to see if I could assist him, he ended up assisting me in getting rid of this UNinvited guest.
All '10' of us got together today to celebrate my brother turning '40', me turning '38' and Grandparent's Day. I couldn't resist taking the pic of my nephew. That's the only time the camera came out. :-)
Kayla's little sister will be "11" Monday, we we're able to join in on the celebration before Kayla went into work. These two do not see each other often enough.
Kayla called me at the LAST minute last week & said "I have 3 days off, can we go to the beach?" So we made a call & her request was answered. We drove down Wednesday morning when I got off work and came home Friday so she could be back at work Saturday. I HATE the heat so if I'm going to be outside some form of H2O needs to be available. It was a short trip but very much needed.
We soaked up lots of sun, had pizza, watched movies, went to Dirty Dick's for lunch, shopped, etc. Kayla had a bleu cheese burger at Dirty Dick's & I had boudin that was served with cheese grits, topped with creole sauce with corn on the cob and hush puppies....AWESOME. This was my second time there, will definitely go back.

It's hard to believe Gabi is NINE. We celebrated with dinner at Habanero's, followed by cake and gifts. Tomorrow she along with two of her friends are going to ride go-carts and play putt-putt golf. Happy Birthday Gabrielle, Gabi, Babi, Gradi, BBB and everything else you answer to. OLIVE JUICE.
I didn't take very many pics on Easter....we had a great time....food was awesome and it's always fun to watch the kids hunt for Easter eggs.
Kayla started her day off decorating the hotel for Prom. Mother Nature had other plans for a lot of people that day, so after an hour they were dismissed to head out. Kayla picked up her dress and headed home. She commented on how all the girls had their hair in ponytails and no make-up on....including herself. They had a day of getting beautified ahead of them. Kayla had her manicure & pedicure yesterday so we only had her hair and makeup to do. Her hair appointment was at 2:30 & by the time we were ready to leave there I had to pull the car to the door & hand her the umbrella. We then picked Taylor up & headed back to our house to finish getting Kayla ready. At that point we were under yet another tornado warning....so we all headed to the basement.
I had a really hard time letting Kayla & Taylor leave in that weather but the warning had been lifted & Prom was still taking place. They left, made a stop at a friends to have pics made, went to dinner then to the President's Mansion for more pics. With Kayla being Jr. Class President she was in lead out and had to be there at 7:15. From what I hear 4 tornadoes touched down in Tuscaloosa today. Thank God no one was hurt....the kids had a blast.
Of course I cried....she was gorgeous.
Gabi & I had a great day. We went to Dairy Queen and Helena when we left Oak Mountain. Can't wait to go back.
Gabi & I spent the day at Oak Mountain today....VERY much needed. We hiked to Peavine Falls, did the paddle boats, went swimming, went to the playground, the petting zoo, the Wildlife Center, Treetop Trail Nature Trail and had a picnic.
Our family has F.N.D. every week, since it was Kayla's birthday week she picked Olive Garden. Yes, it was her second birthday dinner of the week. Her friend Jeanie and her baby Eric joined us; as did Kayla's baby that she had for the weekend thanks to her Child Development course. I think it will be a long time before Kayla is ready to take on a baby of her own. This baby girl showed no mercy on Kayla....had her up 5-7 times each night. Would cry going down the road needing her diaper changed, etc. You know, things babies do. She was so ready for 7 a.m. on Monday morning to get here. Nothing like her "egg" baby she had to take care of a few weeks back. Addie could not get enough of sweet baby Eric & got her feelings hurt when dinner was served & she had to eat. :-(
Gabi's heart was broken because her cat was given away so her kitty was replaced with a drawf hamster named Camille. She's so tiny & adorable to watch while she's rolling around in her ball getting exercise. It's the little things in life.
We went to Gabi's cheer awards tonight....lots of entertainment. It was fun watching the slide show & even more fun watching the coaches make fools of themselves. Nice job Upward!

It was too early for Gabi to put her dress on so we found another way to occupy her time.
Kayla was responsible for her "egg baby", Brylen Taylor for a week. He survived although her friends did their best to try and make sure he didn't. It was a project for her Child Development class. For those whose egg babies didn't survive, they had to have a proper burial and appear in court. Good job Kayla!
Gabi logged 25.2 miles at school and this morning completed the last mile at the 2011 Mercedes Kids Marathon. YEAH GABI....we are so proud of you. You did a great job and we can't wait to see you do it again next year.
Gabi received 4 awards this morning. For perfect attendance the first 9 weeks and perfect attendance the second 9 weeks. Also, for AB honor roll the first 9 weeks and AB honor roll the second 9 weeks. Awesome job Gabi, we are all proud of you.
is cheering again this year for UPWARD at our local Church. Looks like she's making some noise. Her friend Morgan is on her team too which makes is that much more enjoyable.
Lots of Crimson & one lonely upset guy in green. His team showed up for a minute in the 4Th quarter. Roll Tide Roll.
My brother is a huge Alabama fan....we were already in Orlando so 4 of us went to the game. It was awesome, my first time at a college game.
