We're home....

Here are a few pics from today! Gabi did very well up until she had to leave us at the OR door, then she lost it. The surgery & recovery went well. She's in her room eating a popsicle, resting, & watching a movie.

surgery is scheduled for this morning. She has to be there at nine. Please keep her in your thoughts & prayers today. Don't tell BHS but Kayla will not be participating today, she'll be at Children's South with the rest of us. Will update later.

BFF Jeanie started working on their tans today. Why is it at that age no one listens? When I was her age, me & my BFF would apply baby oil and iodine before laying under the sprinkler for hours. Not very smart. I thought I would have to manually flip K & J over before they toasted.

We're going to the beach in June & they want a good tan by time we go. Baby steps please!

Brianna's game....

When we left Brianna's game her team was losing 16-0, I'm not sure what the final score was! :-(

C'Jay's game...

C'Jay's team won 18-14, it was a good game. I helped keep Mari Kynadee entertained so her Mother could get some good photo shots. Great job C'Jay!

Busy Saturday......

I started off the morning with Art class. Followed by Julien's soccer game @ 1:30, C'Jays baseball game @ 3:15, & Brianna's baseball game @ 5, which didn't start until 5:50. After that we picked up dinner & headed home. Julien's team lost 0-1. Good game!

This broke my heart....

"I do not want to go to have surgery. Please do not let me go" Gabi is clearly very anxious about her surgery next week. She's read the book they gave her numerous times & we've tried to explain to her what will take place. It's normal to be scared, I'll be glad when it's behind her. My heart goes out to her. :-(

Gabi/Play-Doh-Kayla

Here are some pics of Gabi's shirt she bought in Gatlinburg, how cute! I missed Kayla in hers. Also, a pic of Gabi's Play-Doh!

My favorite story of Play-Doh when Kayla was younger....she flattened some out like pancake; then took it to my Dad who was already in bed and ask him if he wanted a pancake, he actually took a bite of it thinking it was.

JOSH

Mom kept Josh last night, she said he finally went to bed around two a.m. I brought them breakfast from The Pancake House; then John picked Gabi & Josh up and were headed to the Zoo, but Mother Nature changed their plans. Instead they went to see the Hannah Montana movie and out to eat. After that they went back to Carrie & John's to jump on the trampoline then Gabi got her nails done. Aunt Carrie is such a girly, girl.

Gabi

I took Gabi to the ENT this afternoon. She has to have her T & A's taken out on the 30th. She was nervous about the appointment & I am to blame. They gave her a book which she has read several times. They assured her she can have all the ice cream & popsicles her little heart desires.

My heart goes out to Addie & Jenn. I pray that Gabi's recovery is an easy one. She'll be out of school for about a week and the part she's most excited about....being out of P.E. for two weeks.

Ripley's Old McDonald's Farm Mini-Golf

Tuesday afternoon just before heading home Kayla & I rode the Jurassic Boat Ride :-( . Then Cecilia & the girls played miniature golf. They are such CHEATERS! It was a lot of fun just watching them. Kayla had to fish her ball out of the water AGAIN (last time we were on vacation she played miniature golf & had to fish her ball out of the water).

We had a good time in the mountains; short but sweet.

Clingman's Dome & Morton Overlook

Had I known how the drive was to Clingman's Dome we would have passed on that. Especially considering the wet roads and the STEEP 0.5 mile hike up there, plus it started raining. While at the top you're suppose to be able to see 100 miles in each direction; North, South, East, & West, as you can tell we did good to see our hand in front of our faces.

Morton's Overlook did give us a good shot of The Great Smoky Mountains though.

Although she stayed in the van; needless to say Cecilia was grateful to be back on level ground. What a wuss!

Tuesday morning....

I had planned on hiking several trails, unfortunately the weather and distance put a damper on that. Me & the girls did go on the Chimney Tops Trail; slippery rocks, mud, & all.

Monday afternoon/evening....

While in Gatlinburg Kayla & I rode the chair lift; the girls had t-shirts airbrushed, we bought fudge, etc...the things you do while you're in Gatlinburg. :-)

Monday evening we went to the Dixie Stampede, fun fun. Dinner is served without utensils which was different. Very entertaining.

Afterwards the girls hit the indoor pool.

Ripley's Aquarium

Monday morning after breakfast me, Cecilia, & the girls went to the Aquarium then walked around in Gatlinburg. Gabi wasn't very fond of the sharks so she skipped those exhibits.

Gatlinburg Bound....

We left Jenn's right after the Easter egg hunt Sunday. When we got to our destination we checked in, refreshed, & headed out for dinner. Jenn had suggested the Old Mill Restaurant so that's where we ate. It was delicious.

HAPPY EASTER

We went to Jenn's this year for Easter brunch & an egg hunt. We had a good time & the food was really good. Last year Kayla & I were in Europe during Easter, although those were great memories it was nice to share this holiday with family. We missed Apryl & her family though. :-(

Addie had a rough morning but while we were there she was a trooper. All smiles! And of course, her "MaMa" had her dressed just so from head to toe, PRECIOUS.

As soon as the events were over five of us headed to Gatlinburg for a few days, the girls are on Spring Break this week.

Update....

I'm sorry I didn't post an update on Addie. She is still having a hard time, we're hoping she's feeling well enough to enjoy brunch & an Easter egg hunt Sunday. We're having the events at her house this year so she'll be "HOME" if a problem arises. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for our Sweet Girl.

Permit

The first time I took Kayla to get her permit we were rejected because of the time. This go round we gave ourselves plenty of time. She passed it on the FIRST try! She had some friends & a few family members who didn't think it would happen but she proved us all wrong. Now, if anyone wants to volunteer to take her driving you know where we live. :-) The pic is blurry, sorry. CONGRATULATIONS Kayla!!!

ADDIE

I went straight to Children's this morning when I got off work at 6:30. They didn't take Addie into surgery until 8:30 but we did a good job of entertaining her until then. Her surgery went well; they replaced both tubes, removed her tonsils & "conservatively" removed her adenoids.

When I left she was in her MaMa's lap asking ANYONE to take that IV out of her tiny little hand. :-( She has to spend the night & will get to go "HOME" around lunch time.

Please continue to pray for Addie. Her parents have stocked up on lots of popsicles, etc. but the next two weeks will be rough & the doctor said the greatest risk of bleeding is 10-14 days after surgery.

LVES Beauty Walk

Gabi's Elementary School had their beauty walk today. Gabi was nervous but she did well. She didn't place but as we told her it's not about winning, she had fun & she looked precious doing it. Of course DaDa was there; as well as Aunt Sue, Uncle Chris, Aunt Jenn, Julien, Addie, me, Kayla and Cecilia. Afterwards we went to Habanero's for dinner then Uncle Howard took Julien & Gabi to see Monsters vs Aliens.

Mary's back....

Gabi had an agreement with Santa, that if she was a good girl Mary could come back on special occasions. Mary was at our house last night when Gabi got back from Friday night dinner. Gabi had a beauty walk today & Mary got to be part of it. Thanks Santa for letting Mary share this special day with Gabi.
